Rockets, Mars, and a Presidential Visit 🚀

Big things are happening in Texas! President-elect Donald Trump touched down in the Lone Star State on Tuesday to witness something truly out of this world: SpaceX’s Starship rocket launch.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump hyped up the event, calling it “the largest object ever to be elevated, not only to space, but simply by lifting off the ground.” With characteristic flair, he added, “Good luck to Elon Musk and the Great Patriots involved in this incredible project!”

Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO and billionaire dreamer, returned the love, tweeting, “Honored to have President @realDonaldTrump at our Starship launch!” This marks Starship’s sixth test flight, aiming for space just before sunset.

But what’s the big deal about this rocket? Starship isn’t just any rocket. Musk envisions it as the vehicle that will one day take humans to Mars. Yep, you read that right—Mars! In the meantime, NASA has plans to use Starship under its Artemis program to return humans to the moon this decade. SpaceX is pushing boundaries like never before, and everyone is watching.

The Trump-Musk connection is buzzing, too. Musk, who became one of Trump’s top donors during the 2024 election, has taken on a new role in Trump’s incoming administration. Alongside entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk will co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—a name so Musk it hurts—to slash wasteful government spending.

Oh, and Musk has been quite the presence on Trump’s campaign trail, joining him at events from Pennsylvania rallies to ringside at a UFC fight in Madison Square Garden (alongside Kid Rock, no less).

With SpaceX aiming for the stars and a unique partnership brewing between Trump and Musk, it feels like we’re living in a sci-fi movie—but it’s all real.
