Authorities in Florida have arrested a man who allegedly made disturbing threats against President Donald Trump, including a bizarre challenge to “fight me naked until the death.”
Kendal Aaron Todd, a 42-year-old resident of St. Lucie County, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials, including the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the U.S. Secret Service. His arrest followed a series of alarming social media posts in which he threatened the former president.
In one of his now-deleted video clips, Todd reportedly made wild claims, declaring, “Donald Trump is the Antichrist” and “Because of Donald Trump, every single person in the world is cursed.”
His threats allegedly escalated over time, with one particularly bizarre challenge where he demanded a “fight to the death” against Trump—while both men were naked.
Sheriff Richard Del Toro of St. Lucie County noted that Todd’s behavior became increasingly erratic and dangerous, drawing the attention of federal authorities.
“He just kept escalating his behavior,” Del Toro explained. “He got the attention, obviously, of the United States Secret Service—and that got our attention.”
Given the severity of the threats, law enforcement officials took no chances when moving in to arrest Todd.
“We worked with the U.S. Secret Service to obtain an arrest warrant and a search warrant,” Del Toro said. “We were in full force. We weren’t messing around, especially with threats of ‘suicide by cop’ and other threats toward the president. We weren’t going to take any chances.”
Neighbors of Todd described him as a reclusive and unfriendly individual, with some even calling him “like a vampire” due to his tendency to only come out at night.
Todd now faces serious charges of written threats to kill or do bodily harm, with a bond set at $500,000.
Ongoing Threats Against Trump
This arrest comes amid growing concerns over threats to President Trump’s life. Just months ago, an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania left Trump with a bloodied ear and tragically resulted in the death of one of his supporters.
More recently, another suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested for allegedly staking out Trump’s Florida golf course in what authorities believe was a premeditated assassination attempt.
Sheriff Del Toro emphasized that political violence should never be tolerated, regardless of personal beliefs.
“Politics aside, violence in the political arena is never the right thing,” Del Toro said. “We’ve had attempts on our president’s life before, and we’re not taking any chances.”
As the 2024 election looms closer, threats against Trump appear to be on the rise. Authorities remain on high alert, ensuring that those who make violent threats are held accountable before they can act on their words.
