Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday that the Department of Justice is taking decisive action against individuals involved in a growing wave of violent attacks on Tesla properties, calling these acts “domestic terrorism.”
Arrests and Charges for Tesla Arson Attacks
The DOJ has brought charges against three individuals accused of targeting Tesla facilities with Molotov cocktails and vandalism, with each facing a minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in prison.
- Salem, Oregon: One suspect was arrested for throwing approximately eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership.
- Charleston, South Carolina: Another individual defaced Tesla charging stations with anti-Trump graffiti before setting them on fire.
- Loveland, Colorado: A third suspect attempted to set fire to Tesla vehicles while scrawling “Nazi cars” on the building.
Bondi made it clear that Trump’s DOJ is committed to stopping these violent acts, warning that those who engage in similar crimes will face serious consequences.
FBI Investigating Tesla Arson in Las Vegas
Meanwhile, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating another arson attack at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas. Surveillance footage captured a masked individual firebombing multiple Tesla vehicles and firing a gun into them before leaving behind the word “RESIST” spray-painted on the facility’s doors.
“This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility,” said Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren. “We do believe that it is isolated at this time.”
The attacks on Tesla have escalated as Elon Musk—who also serves as the head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—has become a high-profile figure in the administration. Some radical activists appear to be targeting Tesla as a symbol of Musk’s association with Trump.
Bondi: ‘The Days of Lawlessness Are Over’
In her statement, Bondi sent a clear warning: “The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended.”
She continued, “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”
With the FBI and DOJ aggressively pursuing suspects, it’s clear that the Trump administration is taking a firm stand against politically motivated violence.
