Rep. James Comer (R-KY) is finally getting the chance he’s been waiting for—a real opportunity to hold Joe Biden’s family and top officials accountable.
In a recent interview on The Alex Marlow Show, Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, made it clear that the tide is turning now that Donald Trump has returned to the White House and Republicans are charging ahead with their legislative agenda.
“We’re finally in a position to act,” Comer said, referring to years of investigations that were stalled or ignored while Biden was in charge.
With Trump’s “One Big Beautiful” budget bill likely to pass and Republicans firmly steering the House, Comer and his team are ready to make big moves—moves that could have serious consequences for the Biden family and their inner circle.
Comer revealed that key figures—starting with Hunter Biden—will be called in for questioning.
“We’re going to bring them in for either a transcribed interview, if they’ll come in voluntarily, or a deposition,” he told Marlow.
And it’s not just the names you’ve seen in the headlines. Comer says the net is much wider than people expect, targeting not only top-level Biden officials, but also lower-level operatives and White House insiders who helped cover for the President.
“People that were operating the autopen,” he said, referring to those who may have signed off on documents without the President’s direct involvement.
He even put a spotlight on Biden’s physician, who publicly declared the President to be in top health—a claim that many Americans found hard to believe.
“We want to bring the doctor in,” Comer said. “We want to know who was telling [him] to issue a report that says Joe Biden was a picture of health. I mean, obviously that wasn’t factual. Are you that incompetent as a doctor? Or were you being threatened by Joe Biden to say that, or by the Democratic National Committee to say [that], or by George Soros to say that?”
One of the biggest problems with past oversight hearings, according to Comer, was the lack of seriousness from House Democrats. He pointed out how chaotic hearings became under Democrat members like Reps. Jasmine Crockett and Jared Moskowitz, where real questions got drowned out by shouting matches.
“You only get five minutes, and they’re always a disaster,” he explained. “We want to bring people in for depositions and interviews and have substantive questions and not be confined by five-minute clocks and [Democrats] screaming.”
Comer emphasized that hearing sideshows might entertain the public, but real accountability requires real investigation:
“To get what we need, the information we want to obtain, we’re going to have to do it by depositions and interviews. And look, after that, we can have a hearing.”
As Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Comer can investigate and expose—but he can’t bring criminal charges. That’s where Attorney General Pam Bondi, a Trump ally and former Florida Attorney General, comes in.
“We want to work with the Trump administration because all I can do is investigate. I can’t prosecute,” Comer said.
“If I could prosecute, there would be Biden family members in prison now. There would be Deep State actors in prison. But Pam Bondi can prosecute. The Department of Justice can prosecute.”
Comer’s smile during the interview said it all—he’s confident that justice is finally within reach, and this time, there’s a team in place that isn’t afraid to go the distance.
The Oversight Committee is expected to begin calling in witnesses in the coming weeks, using its subpoena power to gather evidence and testimony that could form the basis of future legal actions. The investigations will likely focus on:
- Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals
- Allegations of influence peddling by Biden officials
- Misleading health claims about the President
- Cover-ups and communication lapses inside the Biden administration
As Comer put it, “This isn’t just about the big names. It’s about the whole machine.”
With Trump back in the driver’s seat, and leaders like Pam Bondi running the Justice Department, this could be the accountability moment conservatives across the country have been demanding for years.
Stay tuned—the fireworks are just beginning.
