While the mainstream media tries to downplay the chaos in our cities, Vice President JD Vance delivered a no-nonsense warning that’s sending shockwaves through Democrat-run states: if governors won’t protect their cities from violent rioters, the Trump administration will step in and do it for them.
Speaking from the front lines in Los Angeles, Vance didn’t sugarcoat the situation. While acknowledging that the violence had recently decreased, he emphasized that it was only due to a strong federal response — including the deployment of U.S. Marines and soldiers.
“I’ve heard from everybody — the soldiers and U.S. Marines are still very much a necessary part of what’s happening,” Vance said.
Vance took aim at California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, saying they’d helped fuel the problem through policies that encourage illegal immigration, strain public services, and undermine local law enforcement.
“They’ve actively encouraged illegal migration,” Vance said, blaming them for the burden now placed on first responders and local resources already stretched thin.
This blunt truth echoes what many conservatives have been warning about for years: when you erode law and order and flood communities with unchecked migration, the results are predictable — and dangerous.
In response to a recent U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruling that upheld President Trump’s decision to federalize the California National Guard, Vance praised the court and made clear: the Trump administration will use every legal tool available to restore order.
“The president has a very simple proposal,” Vance said. “If you enforce your own laws… we’re not going to send in the National Guard. But if you let violent rioters burn great American cities to the ground, then of course we’re going to send federal law enforcement in to protect the people the president was elected to protect.”
The Ninth Circuit’s ruling, delivered in a 38-page opinion, affirmed that Trump had the authority to federalize the National Guard — and that the governor’s protests were baseless. Notably, two of the three judges were Trump appointees.
They ruled that Trump did not need Newsom’s permission, only to inform him — which he did. Even if Newsom didn’t like it, the judges made it clear: Trump had every right to take action to protect the nation.
When Trump federalized 2,000 National Guard troops to respond to the rioting in Los Angeles, top Democrats — including Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom — accused him of trying to “provoke chaos.”
But the only ones provoking chaos were the violent mobs taking over the streets. And the only thing standing between them and innocent citizens were law enforcement and military boots on the ground.
The Pentagon confirmed an additional 2,000 California National Guardsmen were also brought under federal command — and hundreds of U.S. Marines were deployed to reinforce the effort.
That’s not provocation — that’s real leadership.
Vice President Vance’s message is crystal clear: law and order is not optional. Governors and mayors who refuse to act will find themselves overridden by an administration that puts American safety first.
“Very simply, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said recently when asked about a different crisis. That same no-nonsense, results-first approach is being applied at home too: secure the streets or we’ll do it for you.
The Trump-Vance administration continues to make it known — the era of lawlessness is over.
And if Democrats won’t protect American citizens, President Trump and Vice President Vance will.
