Another round of revelations has hit Washington — and this time, they’re pointing straight at the Obama-era intelligence community. But if you were watching the media’s response closely, you’d think the real scandal was someone daring to talk about it.
On Thursday’s Alex Marlow Show, Breitbart’s White House correspondent Nick Gilbertson shed light on the coordinated effort unfolding before our eyes: a full-blown media blackout strategy designed to bury newly surfaced documents that cast a long shadow over how intelligence was handled during the Trump presidency.
“The establishment media, I got the sense yesterday, they’re going to fight tooth and nail to just make this go away,” Gilbertson said.
And fight they did. Gilbertson recalled the moment former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard began laying out details surrounding alleged politicization of intelligence during the Obama years. “There were murmurings in the briefing room as Gabbard was laying some of this out. I heard somebody murmur liar in the back of the room, there was some grandstanding from some veteran establishment journalists that were in the back of the room, too.”
Let that sink in: as serious claims about potential abuse of intelligence power were raised — in a press briefing, no less — members of the press corps were too busy scoffing and posturing to do their jobs. It’s a chilling snapshot of how far legacy media will go to protect its narrative.
What’s at stake here isn’t just political theater — it’s the fundamental integrity of our national security apparatus. If intelligence assessments were manipulated or selectively leaked to undermine an incoming administration, it’s not only a violation of public trust but a deeply dangerous precedent that threatens the very idea of apolitical governance.
Americans remember well how the “Russia collusion” narrative dominated headlines for years, only for the story to unravel under scrutiny. Now, with new documents raising fresh questions, the reflex among media elites seems to be: distract, discredit, and disappear the story.
This isn’t journalism. It’s damage control.
At a time when the public deserves full transparency and accountability, too many so-called reporters are playing defense for a political class desperate to keep the truth buried. The same institutions that lecture Americans about “defending democracy” are actively shielding the powerful from scrutiny — and mocking anyone who dares to ask questions.
The pattern is clear: the political elite weaponizes bureaucracy. The press looks the other way. And everyday Americans are left in the dark — again.
As more information emerges, one thing’s certain: the fight for truth won’t come from the press room podiums or Sunday morning talk shows. It will come from those willing to challenge the gatekeepers — and from citizens determined to hold power to account.
Stay sharp. Stay skeptical. And don’t expect CNN to tell you what’s really going on.
