A bombshell whistleblower report just revealed how deep the political rot ran in the intelligence community during the final days of the Obama administration. According to a newly released account shared by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, an intelligence official was threatened by a supervisor to endorse a 2017 assessment that falsely claimed Russia favored Donald Trump in the 2016 election—despite knowing the information was unsubstantiated.
The whistleblower didn’t just push back. They documented everything.
“I could not concur in good conscience based on information available,” the whistleblower stated, rejecting the official Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that was pushed through in January 2017.
And the pressure wasn’t subtle. According to the account, a supervisor told the whistleblower that supporting the predetermined conclusions of the ICA would be “necessary to receive a promotion.” The implication was clear: fall in line with the political narrative, or your career stalls.
What was in the ICA? A selective use of open-source Russian media clips—while conveniently ignoring foreign outlets, including from NATO allies, that openly supported Hillary Clinton and ridiculed Trump. This cherry-picked intel became the centerpiece of a sweeping accusation that Russia was backing Trump—a claim used to justify years of investigations and attacks on a sitting president.
And it gets worse.
Gabbard’s disclosure confirms that top Obama officials—including then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper—privately discredited the Steele Dossier, even as they ensured its core assertions were baked into the January 2017 assessment. So while the American people were told one thing, the intelligence elites knew another—and went along with the fiction anyway.
“The whistleblower records also show how former DNI James Clapper and other senior Obama Administration officials privately denounced the Steele Dossier, despite simultaneously ensuring that the January 2017 ICA included it,” the report reveals.
This wasn’t an isolated concern. The whistleblower tried repeatedly—over six years—to report the manipulation. The complaint was filed with more than a dozen government offices, including the Intelligence Community Inspector General, Special Counsel John Durham, and even members of the U.S. Senate. Most of those efforts were met with silence.
Now, protected by whistleblower safeguards, Gabbard confirmed the long-buried allegations, finally pulling the curtain back on what she called the “Obama-led creation of the manufactured intelligence assessment which knowingly used false and discredited information to sell a lie to the American people.”
And sell it they did. The 2017 ICA became the launchpad for years of legal warfare, congressional hearings, and media smears against President Trump and his allies—all rooted in a foundation that intelligence leaders knew was politically constructed.
In a post on X, Gabbard commended the official who finally stepped forward.
“Thank you to this courageous whistleblower, and others who are coming forward now, putting their own well-being on the line to defend our democratic republic, ensure the American people know the truth, and hold those responsible accountable,” Gabbard wrote Thursday.
This moment is more than a political reckoning—it’s a reminder of just how fragile public trust becomes when powerful institutions prioritize narrative over truth. For years, Americans who questioned the Russia-collusion storyline were dismissed, mocked, and even investigated. Now, the facts are catching up—and the architects of the hoax may finally have to answer for it.
I think we need a new party, so we can do away with the so-called Democratic party,(which they are NOT!} The old Democratic party consisted of honest people trying to always improve the lives of us all. My Dad was a true Democrat years ago. If he were alive today he probably would have switched to be a Conservative or even a Republican.
