Former President Joe Biden is once again facing serious health concerns after undergoing surgery to treat skin cancer. Photos and video from recent weeks show the 82-year-old with a large wound on his head, raising renewed questions about his fitness and transparency.
Biden’s spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that he had Mohs surgery, a procedure that removes thin layers of cancerous tissue until no abnormal cells remain. What type of skin cancer he had was not disclosed. The revelation followed footage aired by Inside Edition showing Biden leaving a Labor Day weekend church service in Rehoboth Beach with a visible wound. Observers noted he appeared frail as he greeted attendees outside.
In late August, Biden was also seen at the funeral of former Delaware Governor and U.S. Rep. Mike Castle with a giant bandage covering the wound. A day earlier, he had been spotted at an ice cream shop wearing a baseball cap that appeared to conceal it.
This surgery is just the latest in a string of health battles. In May, it was revealed Biden had been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to his bones—an aggressive cancer graded at the most severe level. “Cancer touches us all,” Biden wrote on social media at the time. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
But this is far from his first diagnosis. In 2023, Jill Biden underwent the same Mohs procedure to remove lesions, while doctors also removed a basal cell carcinoma from Biden’s chest that year. Though he was briefly declared cancer-free, his health issues have persisted, with ongoing treatments ever since.
The pattern is clear: Biden’s health struggles are mounting at an age where most Americans are long retired. What makes the situation more troubling is the stark contrast in how the press treats him compared to President Trump. When Trump was in office, every medical detail—from his weight to his diet—was subject to breathless headlines and endless speculation about “fitness for office.” Now, as Biden cycles through surgeries, cancer diagnoses, and visibly frail public appearances, much of the corporate media looks the other way.
The double standard is glaring, and the stakes are high. For a man who once held the most powerful office in the world, the American people deserve the truth—not carefully staged photo ops and half-disclosures. At the very least, Biden’s declining health underscores the importance of strong, transparent leadership and the dangers of a media establishment that picks and chooses when accountability matters.
