The Democratic Party has a serious problem on its hands—and it’s spelled M-E-N. After losing massive support from young and working-class men to President Donald Trump, Democrats are now rolling out a $20 million plan to try and claw their way back into the hearts (and votes) of the very demographic they’ve ignored, insulted, and alienated for years.
According to a revealing piece from The New York Times, top Democrat donors and strategists have been gathering in—you guessed it—luxury hotels since the 2024 election to brainstorm how to fix what they call a “messaging” problem with American men. Instead of reflecting on their failed policies or divisive rhetoric, they’re investing in what can only be described as political anthropology, treating young men like a foreign species.
“Democratic donors and strategists have been gathering at luxury hotels to discuss how to win back working-class voters, commissioning new projects that can read like anthropological studies of people from faraway places,” wrote Times reporter Shane Goldmacher.
This $20 million plan even has a name: SAM, which stands for “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan.” Yes, they actually named it that.
Goldmacher explains that the plan aims to reverse what Democrats now see as “the erosion of Democratic support among young men, especially online.” The blueprint for SAM reportedly includes spending big bucks to “study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces.” In plain terms? They want to figure out how to talk like the people they’ve spent the last decade ridiculing.
And just how far are they willing to go? According to the Times, SAM recommends that Democrats start buying ads inside video games. You read that right—video games.
It’s a wild strategy, especially coming from a party that spent years pushing woke narratives that label masculinity as “toxic,” who mocked blue-collar men as “deplorables,” and who have made young men feel like villains in their own country.
But there’s more trouble brewing for Democrats behind the scenes. The report comes just as the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is reportedly booting gun control activist David Hogg from his leadership role—despite the fact that he was appointed specifically to help bring young men back into the fold.
As Breitbart News recently reported:
“The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has taken steps towards removing gun control activist and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor David Hogg as vice chairman.”
Hogg, along with Pennsylvania State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, was elected to co-chair the DNC’s youth outreach efforts earlier this year. But now, the DNC’s credentials committee has voted 13-2 to void those election results.
Why the sudden change? It might have something to do with Hogg’s announcement that he plans to spend up to $20 million to fund primary challenges against incumbent Democrats. The party doesn’t want to lose control of its messaging—or its power.
The Democrats are learning the hard way: you can’t buy back trust. After years of attacking traditional values, dismissing faith and family, and pushing extreme cultural policies, young men are rejecting what the Left is selling—and turning toward a Republican Party that’s offering strength, freedom, and opportunity.
And as Trump’s appeal among working-class men continues to grow, Democrats are panicking—not by changing their message, but by trying to manipulate it.
No amount of video game ads or “strategic syntax” studies can fix what Democrats broke themselves.
