Another day, another falsehood from the liberal media elite.
This time it was Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of The View, who confidently declared on live TV that egg prices haven’t dropped a single cent since President Donald Trump took office. Her co-host, Sunny Hostin, quickly chimed in to claim prices are still rising.
Both were flat-out wrong.
In fact, egg prices have dropped by a massive 44% since the start of 2025, according to the latest data from Trading Economics. That’s not a small dip — that’s a real break for American families who’ve been crushed by the grocery bill increases under Joe Biden’s failed policies.
Let’s look at the actual numbers:
- January 21, 2025 (Trump’s first full day back in office):
The average price for a dozen eggs was $6.41. - March 3, 2025: Prices had spiked to $8.27.
- As of this week: Prices have dropped all the way down to $3.23 per dozen.
That’s nearly a 50% decline in just over a month.
But you wouldn’t know it if you’re watching The View, where facts go to die.
Egg prices skyrocketed under Joe Biden — from $1.46 per dozen in January 2021 to a staggering $4.14 in December 2024, his last full month in office.
Much of that surge was due to the bird flu crisis, which led to massive losses in America’s egg-laying hen population. According to USDA data, over 108 million hens have died since 2022, including 13 million just in 2025.
While that’s a serious situation, the Biden administration failed to manage it, leading to empty shelves and absurdly high prices for basic items like eggs.
Even White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called out the Biden team’s incompetence during a January 28th briefing, pointing directly at the “mass killing” of chickens and the USDA’s poor response as major contributors to inflation at the breakfast table.
Nicole Silverio, a reporter for the Daily Caller, fired back at Goldberg’s misinformation with actual data, and even Breitbart’s John Carney confirmed last month that prices were falling fast:
“The price of large white shell eggs fell 15 percent in early March,” Carney wrote, noting that consumers were finally getting some relief from grocery store sticker shock.
The USDA backed that up, reporting average egg prices had dropped to $6.85 in March — down $1.20 in just two weeks. That came as bird flu outbreaks slowed and supply chains began to normalize under smarter leadership.
It’s yet another example of how completely out of touch the liberal media has become. While they sit in TV studios in New York or Los Angeles, regular Americans are feeling real changes — thanks to policies that put America First again.
President Trump made a promise on the campaign trail:
“We will end inflation and make America affordable again.”
So far, he’s delivering — and fast.
- Egg prices are down.
- Inflation is cooling.
- The economy is moving in the right direction.
- And the Left is still clinging to lies instead of facts.
Maybe it’s time Whoopi took a trip to the grocery store instead of reading cue cards.
