It’s been nearly eight years since the political establishment and the media first peddled the narrative that Donald Trump “colluded” with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election. But even with the clock running out on legal consequences, the fight for truth isn’t over — and according to one top FBI official, a flood of long-buried evidence is about to see the light of day.
During an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures, FBI Director Kash Patel joined host Maria Bartiromo for a deep dive into what he described as the “biggest D.C. deception game we’ve ever seen.” Patel didn’t mince words — he says America was lied to, the FBI was corrupted from the inside, and the truth was hidden from the public on purpose.
“They intentionally failed the American public,” Patel said, referring to the likes of former FBI Director James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and others. “They lied to a federal court. They rigged a presidential election by lying to the American public and using taxpayer dollars — likely illegally — to fund this entire operation.”
Patel also revealed that previously hidden documents related to Crossfire Hurricane — the FBI’s original counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign — are now being released without redactions, allowing Americans to finally see what was covered up.
“The Crossfire Hurricane documents are coming fast and hard,” Patel explained. “They’re being sent [to Congress] unredacted so we can have full accountability.”
This fresh push for transparency comes too late for criminal charges in many cases. Patel noted that the statute of limitations has expired on much of the criminal conduct that could’ve been prosecuted — a failure he blames squarely on the previous leadership at the bureau.
“Most of these statute of limitations are 5 years old,” Patel said. “We will investigate criminal conduct where we find a righteous case to do so and the law and the facts allow us to. But a lot of it, we’re precluded from.”
Still, he emphasized that the job now is to fully expose what happened, even if justice has been delayed.
“We weren’t here in the FBI in the last five years when these cases could have been pursued,” Patel said. “But we are here now — and we’re going to show the American people everything that was hidden.”
Fox’s Maria Bartiromo, who was one of the earliest and most consistent voices questioning the Russia collusion narrative, didn’t hold back her frustration.
“Comey, Strzok and the rest — they’ve got TV shows and media platforms. They’re fine. There’s been no accountability,” Bartiromo said bluntly.
Patel acknowledged the criticism and said it’s warranted. But he insisted that there is still value in releasing everything the public was never supposed to see.
“It’s rightfully so,” he said. “Could we have done more in the past? Sure. People before us could have. But what we can do now is continue to put out the documents and the information that these people withheld from the American public.”
He added that there are still more revelations to come, even beyond what we already know about how the Russia hoax was orchestrated.
“As much as we know about Crossfire Hurricane, we just found out more last week,” Patel said.
“That’s how vindictive and vicious the former leadership structure here was. Not only did they bastardize the FISA process and lie to the American public — they withheld and hid documentation and put it in rooms where people weren’t supposed to look.”
Patel closed out the interview with a bold promise to the American people:
“Just give us about a week or two,” he said. “You’re about to see a wave of transparency.”
This isn’t just about looking backward. As trust in government institutions continues to decline, Americans are demanding accountability for those who abused their power. The unraveling of the Trump-Russia hoax — once breathlessly reported by every major news outlet — is a reminder that the so-called “watchdogs” in Washington and the media often protect their own, not the truth.
For years, the elite dismissed concerns about FBI bias, illegal surveillance, and political targeting as “conspiracy theories.” But those theories have become facts — and now, we’re finally seeing how deep the deception ran.
