A Hungarian man accused of murdering two elderly gay men in Florida has been arrested—and was found to have overstayed his visa.
Miami Police Chief Manny Morales called it a targeted crime against the LGBTQ+ community, saying that without swift investigative work, “this individual would have gotten away with these crimes.”
🕵️♂️ What We Know So Far
📌 Suspect: Zsolt Zsolyomi, 25
📌 Crimes: Two counts of second-degree murder
📌 Victims:
- Carlos Villaquiran (66), found strangled in his Miami Beach apartment bathtub (Nov. 21).
- Rodolfo Fernandez de Velasco (71), found strangled with seatbelts after a car crash in Little Havana (Jan.).
Police say Zsolyomi befriended his victims before attacking them. Now, he’s not only facing murder charges but also an immigration hold due to his expired visa.
Authorities continue to investigate, but the case has sparked broader discussions about immigration enforcement and crime prevention.
