Just as President Donald Trump begins to hit his stride in his second term, Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) has made a stunning move: introducing articles of impeachment against the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
Yes — you read that right. Only weeks after Trump’s historic return to the White House, winning a landslide election victory in November 2024, the impeachment talk is back. And it’s coming from a Democrat who seems more focused on political theatrics than respecting the clear will of the American people.
Impeachment Already? Here’s What It’s About
Rep. Thanedar, a Democrat from Michigan, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to announce that he had officially filed impeachment articles against President Trump.
Fox News confirmed the filing through Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram, who reported that a colleague reviewed the resolution firsthand.
So, what exactly are the charges?
The articles reportedly accuse Trump of a wide range of supposed offenses, including:
- Obstruction of justice
- Abuse of trade powers
- International aggression
- Usurpation of appropriations
- Bribery and corruption
- Violations of the First Amendment
- Tyranny
Quite the laundry list, especially considering President Trump has been back in office for barely 100 days.
Despite the political noise from the Left, President Trump has wasted no time making good on his promises.
On the immigration front — the issue he campaigned hardest on — Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, a long-standing federal law that allows expedited deportation of foreign nationals deemed threats. Under this authority, several alleged gang members have already been deported and sent to a prison in El Salvador.
Naturally, this hardline stance hasn’t sat well with open-border Democrats. But it’s been met with strong approval from voters who’ve long demanded action on illegal immigration.
Meanwhile, Trump’s team has had to deal with resistance — not just from progressive politicians, but from activist judges as well.
Just last week, a Wisconsin judge, Hannah Dugan, was arrested by the FBI for allegedly helping an illegal immigrant escape federal custody. That arrest sent shockwaves through the political world.
“No one is above the law,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in a post on X following the judge’s arrest.
Stephen Miller Drops the Hammer
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who served as a top advisor during Trump’s first term, didn’t hold back. In a fiery statement, Miller called out the Left’s hypocrisy.
“Democrats spent the last 8 years stripping Americans of due process to jail them for protected political activity,” he wrote.
“They were illegally spying on the Trump Campaign. They used the FBI and intelligence community to go after political enemies. They launched a coup against President Trump and his administration.”
Miller went even further, accusing Democrats of enabling a mass invasion of the U.S. by working hand-in-hand with foreign cartels and failing to stop illegal immigration — which has resulted in real casualties and suffering across the nation.
“And now these same Democrats howl with rage when the invasion is returned,” he said, referring to Trump’s deportation policies. “Those who criminally harbor the invaders and feloniously obstruct their removal are being held accountable under the law.”
Also weighing in was Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, who had a stern warning for any judge, mayor, or official attempting to block deportations:
“Protest all you want, but when you cross that line — I’ve said this one thousand times — when you cross that line to impediment or knowingly harboring or concealing an illegal alien migrant, you will be prosecuted, judge or not,” Homan declared.
Impeachment drama aside, President Trump is also working to restore America’s economic strength. In recent weeks, he announced a sweeping new round of tariffs aimed at bringing global trade back in America’s favor.
Key highlights include:
- A 34% tariff on Chinese goods, quickly followed by an even steeper 145% rate after negotiations stalled
- Ending long-abused commerce loopholes used by Chinese companies
- Postponing tariffs on several other countries — but only after they agreed to come to the negotiating table
Just days after the tougher measures were rolled out, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping personally called President Trump to discuss reopening trade talks. That’s the power of tough negotiation.
What makes Thanedar’s impeachment stunt even more out of touch is the clear mandate President Trump received in the 2024 election. Not only did he win the Electoral College, he also captured the popular vote and every swing state — something that stunned political analysts on both sides.
Still, Democrats are pushing impeachment articles just 100 days into his term — despite Trump working overtime to fix broken borders, bring back American jobs, and protect the nation.
While Democrats scream about “tyranny” and rush to file impeachment articles before Trump even finishes unpacking his desk, millions of Americans see what’s really going on: a president keeping his promises and a political class terrified of losing control.
It’s clear they haven’t learned a thing from 2016. Or 2020. Or 2024.
President Trump is back — and he’s just getting started.
