Folks, it looks like the heat is finally turning up on Capitol Hill—and it’s not just the summer sun.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) dropped a bombshell Sunday on ABC’s This Week: When Congress returns from its August recess, he plans to force a House vote to release the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files—no more delays, no more games.
Massie made it clear: “Let’s get more than just the client book. Let’s follow the money. Open up the plea deal. What really happened?”
He’s teaming up with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) in a rare bipartisan push, using a rarely-used move called a discharge petition. If they gather 218 signatures—and they’re already closing in on that number—they can force the vote, even without Speaker Mike Johnson’s blessing.
“We’ve got 12 Republican co-sponsors already. If just six more sign, and every Democrat joins, we’re there,” Massie said.
Some in the D.C. establishment would love nothing more than for this Epstein issue to quietly disappear. But Massie isn’t having it.
“The pressure will build over August recess,” he said. “It’s not going to fade away like the Speaker hopes.”
This is about more than one scandal—it’s about transparency, accountability, and whether Congress is willing to serve the people or protect the powerful.
If you’ve been wondering when Congress would stop dragging its feet on this… it’s looking like the moment is finally here.
