First Lady Melania Trump isn’t letting political smears slide — especially when they cross into outright falsehoods. Her legal team has placed Hunter Biden on notice for a staggering $1 billion in damages over what they call “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” made about her.
According to attorney Alejandro Brito, Hunter Biden’s comments came during a YouTube interview with Andrew Callaghan, where Biden claimed convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania to Donald Trump. Brito’s August 6 letter to Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, makes the demand plain:
“Immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump. Failure to comply will leave Mrs. Trump with no choice but to pursue any legal rights and remedies available to her to recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused her to suffer.”
Brito emphasized that Biden’s remarks were quickly amplified across media platforms, causing “severe harm” to the First Lady’s reputation:
“These false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory statements are extremely salacious and have been widely disseminated throughout various digital mediums… to tens of millions of people worldwide.”
The so-called “source” for Biden’s smear? None other than Michael Wolff — a known fabricator — whose claims were published by The Daily Beast. But after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Melania’s legal team, The Daily Beast deleted the story in full and issued an apology.
Brito noted Biden “unjustifiably relied” on Wolff’s lies and “maliciously elected to republish them” anyway, arguing the timing “underscores the actual malice” behind it. He accused Biden of using the Trump name for self-promotion:
“Given your vast history of trading on the names of others — including your surname — for your personal benefit, it is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention to yourself.”
Brito gave Biden until August 7 to retract and apologize. A source says Biden missed the deadline — and instead “leaked the letter” to a sympathetic reporter, suggesting deep concern over the legal threat.
It’s worth noting Melania isn’t alone in securing retractions. Not only did The Daily Beast fold, but even Democrat strategist James Carville backed down.
“We took a look at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode. I also take back these statements and apologize,” Carville admitted on his podcast.
For conservatives, this isn’t just about defending Melania Trump’s name — it’s about holding high-profile political figures accountable when they try to weaponize falsehoods. In an era where the corporate press often amplifies unverified claims if they damage the right, standing up and fighting back sends a clear message: smear campaigns come with consequences.

Hunter you thought Donald Trump was tough…but I am sure you have now learned who the real
tough gal is…don’t mess with mama bear. I hope she takes you and yours for every nickel you have in your banks and every asset you own.
The only weapon Hunter baby has left,is to try and dig dirt on anyone he still ‘believes’ he can hurt with his lie$ and maybe extort money since his wallet dried up.
Melania is above Hunter and his family.
Melania wouldn’t give Hunter the ‘time of day’,due to Hunter being such a low life.
Hunter needs to be in Prison for all the crimes he and his Biden family have done.
