California Governor Gavin Newsom has once again turned to inflammatory rhetoric rather than reasoned debate. In a social media post blasted from his official press office account, Newsom attacked White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, writing in all caps: “STEPHEN MILLER IS A FASCIST!”
This wasn’t just a one-off insult. According to reports, Newsom also referred to Miller as “SS,” a loaded and disturbing acronym for the Schutzstaffel, the elite Nazi corps that carried out mass atrocities during the Holocaust. The smear is even more egregious when one remembers that Miller is Jewish. By invoking Nazi symbolism, Newsom didn’t just lob an insult—he chose language historically tied to some of the darkest crimes in human history.
The governor’s office, which runs the official @GovPressOffice account, has increasingly blurred the line between governance and political trolling. One moment the account issues updates on state matters, and the next it pushes out partisan attacks aimed at President Donald Trump and his staff. This time, the target was Miller, who has become a lightning rod because of his strong stance on border security and immigration enforcement—issues where the political divide couldn’t be starker.
But the reaction to Newsom’s post showed just how dangerous this sort of rhetoric can be. Several voices immediately pushed back. “You’ve got to stop this,” wrote Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, in a post on X. Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec added bluntly, “They know exactly what they’re doing.” Another observer warned, “California Governor Gavin Newsom is inciting violence against White House senior staffer Stephen Miller. This comes a week after Governor Gavin Newsom called for doxing ICE agents even as Antifa terrorists were shooting at ICE agents.”
Critics argue this pattern is no coincidence. When a sitting governor uses his official office to dehumanize political opponents, it sends a clear signal that disagreement should be met not with debate, but with personal destruction. Calling a Jewish advisor “SS” is not only offensive but reckless, especially in today’s volatile political climate. Words like these don’t exist in a vacuum—they set the tone for how the public engages, and they risk legitimizing harassment or even violence against those targeted.
From a broader perspective, this speaks volumes about how far the political culture has drifted. Leaders once aimed to elevate the conversation, even when disagreements ran deep. Now, with taxpayer-backed platforms, they amplify rhetoric designed to demean and incite. For conservatives, this is another reminder of why principles like limited government, respect for individual dignity, and accountability for those in power are so vital. When government officials abandon restraint and weaponize their positions, the burden ultimately falls on the public that has to live with the consequences.
Governor Newsom’s words weren’t just inappropriate—they crossed a line. In a moment when America desperately needs leaders who can disagree without demeaning, the choice to invoke Nazi comparisons against a Jewish public servant is not only in poor taste but dangerous. If unchecked, this type of conduct risks normalizing an environment where threats replace dialogue and where public service becomes a liability instead of an honor.
At its core, this episode isn’t about one insult hurled online. It’s about the kind of political culture we’re building. Do we tolerate leaders who reduce their opponents to caricatures and slurs, or do we demand better from those entrusted with power? For many, Newsom’s attack answered that question loud and clear.
This how Hitler took over by spreading lies fear. But it won’t work here we the people are ready so when it starts we won’t show them no mercy.
RIGHT BACK AT YA NEWSCUM, YOU ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!! BUT YOU’RE SO FUCKING STUPID YOU DON’T SEE IT!! YOU FUCKED UP CA AND NOW YOU’RE TRYING TO FUCK UP OUR COUNTRY BY GETTING YOUR CRONIES ALL WOUND UP!!! YOU REALLY ARE PITIFUL AND I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU AND ESPECIALLY YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!
How do ya know when ya have struck a nerve? When they resort to name calling – oh wait, that is their normal mode of operation, never mind.
I probably shouldn’t have said that since I call him ‘gruesome’ but IMHO that is what he is doing to kaly…………
I personally think Gavin Newsom has a bit of an Ego & Mental problem going on in that head of his! He’s spewing so much hate that it makes him blind to what he should be concentrating on….His state…. and the people he should be listening to…..BUT…oh, NO! His head is too big for his shoulders! He will end up ruining his own career. He totally is ignoring the people of California and acts like he knows what is Best for them. What IS best for them is to find someone New to run against him who will care about the People and NOT about HIMSELF! To me, this mas comes off as “unhinged”!
