The NFL has once again managed to insult its own fan base. Photos have resurfaced of the league’s newly chosen halftime performer, rapper Bad Bunny, prancing around in a pink mini skirt and high heels. This is the same performer who has spent years railing against President Donald Trump, ICE, and common-sense border enforcement. Yet he’s the man the NFL decided should headline the most-watched event in American sports.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has repeatedly expressed his disdain for America and its voters. He once declared he would never perform in the U.S. again, citing his opposition to Trump’s immigration policies. He went so far as to question whether Latino fans were even safe attending his shows in the U.S.
“Honest, I can’t risk the safety of my fans like that. Mainland America just doesn’t feel necessary to me anymore,” he said back in September. “I’ve already performed there many times. Fans in the U.S. have had plenty of chances to see me perform live.”
That grandstanding didn’t last long. Despite those words, Bad Bunny has now accepted the prestige and paycheck that come with the Super Bowl halftime stage. The hypocrisy is hard to miss: he claimed America wasn’t safe or necessary for his fans—yet he’s ready to collect millions off America’s biggest stage.
This isn’t just about one singer. The halftime show has become a cultural battleground where the NFL signals its priorities. Instead of celebrating artists who share the values of everyday Americans, the league has embraced a performer who mocked those very values, backed Kamala Harris before her failed campaign, and consistently ridiculed the millions of Trump-supporting fans who keep the sport alive.
The decision shows yet again how out of touch the NFL has become with the heart of its audience. For years, loyal viewers have watched the league embrace political stunts, ignore patriotic traditions, and lecture fans about “social justice.” Now, by elevating a performer openly hostile to conservative America, the NFL has doubled down on alienating the very people who fill the stadiums and tune in every Sunday.
The Super Bowl is supposed to be about football and unity—a shared American tradition. Instead, it’s being used as another platform to promote performers who see America itself as the problem. The NFL’s message is clear: if you support Trump, secure borders, or traditional values, don’t expect the halftime show to reflect you.
The NFL is going to “Bud Lite” itself. The overwhelming majority of Americans don’t like performers like this, especially if they are watching with their children. A drop in revenue should open their eyes.
Refund!! Lawsuits!!
I want to hear what the players say about it! Teams with trans cheerleaders are the only ones that are liking it. Why do they insist on shoving this crap in our face?!??
You’ve got to be kidding! The NFL needs to move somewhere else.
He’s a pile of shit, same as NFL.
