On Monday, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) took to MSNBC’s Deadline to launch a wild tirade against former President Donald Trump, accusing him of turning the United States into what he called a “gangster state.”
Raskin, known for his theatrical takes and anti-Trump rhetoric, didn’t hold back, leveling accusations about foreign money, cryptocurrency, and international business dealings. But while his claims were explosive, they were also thin on substance—and steeped in partisan spin.
Raskin’s latest talking point centers around what he calls a “$400 million bribe force” and a private jet from Qatar—claiming that these alleged benefits to Trump were unconstitutional because they weren’t disclosed to Congress.
“There’s the $400 million bribe force, one jet from Qatar, completely brazen, totally in violation of the Constitution if you don’t come to Congress first,” Raskin said.
That’s a bold claim—and one without proof, as no solid evidence has emerged to back it up. Even left-leaning fact-checkers have yet to substantiate the existence of such a bribe. But that hasn’t stopped Raskin from repeating these talking points to create media buzz.
Raskin also accused Trump of hypocrisy over cryptocurrency, stating:
“Donald Trump, who denounced crypto as just saturated with criminality, now has completely embraced it and created his own crypto meme coin…”
Here’s what’s really happening: Trump has been connected to a third-party crypto token that uses his likeness, but it’s not officially launched by him. Like countless meme coins out there, it’s more about branding and speculation than policy. And once again, no laws are being broken, despite Raskin’s breathless fearmongering about “foreign dictators” donating through crypto.
Then came the drama over Trump’s foreign policy:
“Their first foreign trip was back to Saudi Arabia… It was a business trip.”
This is misleading. Trump’s 2017 visit to Saudi Arabia was part of a broader effort to strengthen Middle East alliances and discuss cooperation on counterterrorism. During that same trip, Trump pushed for regional unity, urged Arab nations to take the lead in fighting extremism, and reaffirmed U.S. strength on the world stage—something even CNN admitted was “symbolic and strategic.”
The left’s attempt to frame it as a shady business expedition falls flat when stacked against the actual record.
Raskin finished his rant with an ideological swipe:
“Corruption is the opposite of democracy… And that’s what we’ve got now. It’s a gangster state.”
What Raskin leaves out, however, is the rampant corruption within his own party—from the Biden family’s overseas dealings to influence-peddling in Ukraine and China, to Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal that collapsed under public scrutiny.
While Raskin rails against Trump’s so-called “monarchical system,” he’s been silent on the weaponization of government under Biden, including DOJ overreach, two-tiered justice, and censorship collusion with Big Tech—issues that genuinely threaten our republic.
Jamie Raskin’s rant is nothing new. It’s the same tired routine we’ve seen for years: throw everything at Trump and hope something sticks. No hard evidence, just wild accusations and high-volume hysteria.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump continues to focus on rebuilding America, protecting our borders, and keeping our enemies in check—not with empty talk, but with real policies and proven results.
So who’s really acting like a gangster? The guy under constant investigation with no convictions—or the party that’s been silencing opposition, ignoring scandals, and weaponizing justice?
We’ll let you decide.
