In what may go down as one of the more bizarre late-night TV moments this year, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) took a swipe at President Donald Trump—on Jimmy Kimmel Live! of all places—by saying she would “absolutely” take an IQ test against him.
The back-and-forth began when Kimmel, a known critic of Trump who rarely misses a chance to mock conservatives, brought up Trump’s past comments about Crockett.
“He also called you low IQ, I’m sure you’re aware of that,” Kimmel said during the interview. “Would you be willing to take an IQ test, publicly, head-to-head against the President of the United States?”
Without hesitation, Crockett responded: “Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely.”
The jab wasn’t random. Crockett was responding to a previous comment Trump made during a March radio interview with Vince Coglianese, where he didn’t hold back.
Trump was reacting to Crockett’s controversial nickname for Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who is paralyzed—calling him “Governor Hot Wheels.” That remark drew heavy criticism, especially given that it targeted someone with a disability. When pressed, Crockett tried to clean up the mess by claiming she was actually referring to the transportation used to relocate illegal migrants out of Texas.
Trump wasn’t buying it.
“It’s a lie, and she lies,” Trump told Coglianese. “But, she’s a low life, and she’s a very low IQ person, and a low life. I don’t imagine the Democrats are going to have a person like that running their party. If they do, they’ll never win an election again.”
During her appearance on Kimmel’s show, Crockett also confirmed that she has never met Trump in person.
“No,” she said plainly when asked if they’d ever crossed paths.
Kimmel, in his usual sarcastic tone, said, “I feel like he likes you.”
Crockett pushed back: “No.”
Kimmel doubled down, joking that Trump is known to notice people who are “aggressive and funny,” suggesting that maybe Crockett hit his radar.
He even played a clip of Trump speaking at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) dinner, where the former president name-dropped her.
“How about this new one they have? Their new star, Crockett?” Trump said. “How about her? Are they serious about that? That’s their new star? If that’s their new star, they’re in serious trouble.”
Let’s be honest: Trump isn’t one to mince words—and it’s clear he doesn’t think much of Crockett or her rise within the Democrat ranks. And while Crockett may be trying to make headlines by challenging Trump to a public IQ duel on late-night TV, conservatives see through the circus.
At a time when Democrats are struggling with policy failures, open-border chaos, and soaring inflation, they seem to prefer petty personal attacks over real solutions. And turning late-night comedy shows into platforms for political jabs? That’s not leadership—it’s just more theater.
In the end, Crockett’s challenge isn’t about IQ. It’s about optics—and that’s a game the American people are getting tired of.
