President Trump’s first term move—naming the State Department’s spokesperson—has now evolved into another strategic pick. He has declared his intent to nominate Tammy Bruce as the U.S. Deputy Representative to the United Nations, elevating her to ambassadorial rank with Senate confirmation pending.
“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a Great Patriot, Television Personality, and Bestselling Author, as our next Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Since the beginning of my Second Term, Tammy has been serving with distinction as Spokesperson of the State Department, where she did a fantastic job. Tammy Bruce will represent our Country brilliantly at the United Nations. Congratulations Tammy!”
Bruce, a former Democrat who pivoted to conservatism, became State Department Spokesperson in January. She’s been the face of the administration on immigration enforcement, strong support for Israel, and firm messaging on Ukraine and Gaza. Her Senate-confirmable nomination comes as the U.S. still lacks a permanent U.N. ambassador, with Mike Waltz’s confirmation process also delayed.
Trump’s pick reflects a broader strategy of placing unapologetic conservative voices on the international stage—swift, loyal, and aligned with America First principles. Diplomacy shouldn’t be a passive platform; it should champion national sovereignty, clarity, and strength.
Bruce’s nomination arrives amidst global scrutiny of U.S. diplomacy—especially regarding Israel amid Gaza, and the ongoing confrontation with Russian aggression. A strong voice like hers, unafraid to push back and project American values, is precisely what a confident nation needs.
If confirmed, she will bring continuity and clarity to the U.N. stage—proof that diplomatic roles should reinforce national strength, not obscure it behind bureaucracy or platitudes.
