As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, he’s making headlines for his candid remarks about the media and his plans for America’s future. Speaking in an exclusive interview, Trump emphasized his vision for “Making America Great Again” while highlighting the importance of working with the press—even those who have been less than kind to him in the past.

A New Start with the Media
Trump acknowledged that a free and open press is “vital” for America’s success. “In order to Make America Great Again, it is very important, if not vital, to have a free, fair, and open media,” he said.

Demonstrating this sentiment, Trump recently met with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski at Mar-a-Lago—their first meeting in seven years. He described the conversation as “extremely cordial” and focused on fostering open communication. Scarborough and Brzezinski even congratulated Trump on running a campaign “for the history books.”

While Trump expressed his willingness to engage with the media, he also set clear boundaries: “If not treated fairly, however, that will end.” He praised journalists and outlets he considered “truthful, honest, and professional” during his presidency and campaigns, saying they played a significant role in his success.

Second Chances, But Not a Fourth
Trump struck a conciliatory tone, noting he is willing to give second and even third chances to those who have treated him unfairly. “But never willing to give a fourth chance—that is where I hold the line,” he added.

Despite his critiques of certain media outlets, Trump extended gratitude to those who covered his journey with integrity. “They were the ones that kept me in the game and gave me a victory—the likes of which our country has rarely seen before,” he said.

What’s Next?
With most of his key Cabinet positions already filled, Trump’s transition team is operating from Palm Beach, Florida, before relocating to Washington, D.C., ahead of his January 20th inauguration. As he looks to shape his administration, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to making America “the greatest and most powerful country in the world.”

Looking ahead, Trump promised transparency with the press and the public. “I will do whatever is necessary to bring our country to the highest level that it’s ever seen,” he said.

The president-elect’s message to the nation is clear: open dialogue and collaboration are essential, but fairness and professionalism must guide the relationship between leaders and the press.

What’s your take on Trump’s vision for the media? Let us know—we’d love to hear your thoughts!
