NYPD Reports Members of Migrant ‘Little Devils’ Gang Arrested 240 Times

New York City is being overrun — and not by tourists.

A dangerous Venezuelan gang known as Los Diablos de 42, or “Little Devils of 42nd Street,” has turned parts of the Big Apple into a playground for violent criminals — and they’re getting away with it.

At a recent press conference, Assistant NYPD Chief Jason Savino delivered a chilling update: despite over 240 arrests of just 37 gang members, these criminals keep getting released right back onto the streets.

“Of those 37, we have over 240 arrests of those 37 individuals. That’s almost six [arrests] apiece,” Savino told New Yorkers.

But here’s the kicker: these gang members aren’t just any criminals. They’re reportedly tied to Tren de Aragua, a powerful and ruthless gang originating from Venezuela that’s been wreaking havoc across South America — and now they’ve set up shop in New York City.

Even more disturbing? The gang is recruiting children. Savino revealed that some of the suspects involved in robberies are as young as 8 years old, and the gang is strategically using minors to exploit the justice system’s leniency toward juveniles.

“There’s actually kick-ups where people are recruiting these younger members as young as 11,” Savino explained. “And they’ve been described in some of these robbery incidents as young as 8-years-old.”

NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino did not mince words. She was furious to learn that all of these gang members are in the country illegally, and not a single one has been deported — even after hundreds of arrests.

“All are here illegally,” Paladino said. “None turned over for deportation despite hundreds of arrests and releases.”

Let’s just be clear here.

Migrant gang with 34+ members.

Operating with impunity in Times Square, conducting robberies and assaults.

240 arrests.

Still on the street, few in jail.

All are here illegally.

It’s a story that paints a clear picture of a broken system: criminals crossing the border illegally, committing violent crimes, and facing zero real consequences.

This gang problem isn’t just statistics — it’s personal. Several members of this same gang recently ambushed NYPD officers in Times Square, one of the busiest areas in the city, during broad daylight.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described it as a calculated assault, saying officers were:

“Ambushed, pelted with scooters, basketballs and other makeshift weapons. This was a targeted attack.”

The incident shocked the city, and even Democrat Mayor Eric Adams was forced to respond.

“When someone openly assaults a police officer, you are attacking our symbol of safety, and it cannot be tolerated,” Adams stated.

Despite his tough words, Adams and other city leaders have not taken meaningful steps to prevent these gang members from being released again and again.

Police credit the NYPD’s gang database with helping identify the suspects involved in the attack. But instead of backing law enforcement, progressive leaders are now trying to eliminate the very tool that allowed officers to find these criminals.

Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams is among those pushing to scrap the gang database, calling it a source of harassment.

And Matthew Brodwith, a Legal Aid Society activist, went even further:

“[The gang database is] a racist tool that disproportionately targets young people of color with little to no evidence of criminal involvement.”

This line of thinking, critics say, is exactly why gang violence is spiraling out of control. Rather than supporting police and enforcing immigration laws, city leaders are tying officers’ hands behind their backs — all in the name of political correctness.

This isn’t just a New York problem. With the border crisis worsening by the day, violent foreign gangs like Tren de Aragua are entering the U.S. through the southern border, taking advantage of the Biden administration’s wide-open policies.

Tren de Aragua has already been called “one of the most feared transnational gangs in Latin America.” Now they’re bringing that violence to American streets.

And here’s what’s truly troubling: many of these criminals are arrested over and over, but thanks to soft-on-crime policies, progressive prosecutors, and sanctuary city laws, they’re never deported. They just walk right out the jailhouse door and do it again.

How many more officers need to be ambushed? How many more kids need to be recruited into gangs? How many more times do we need to arrest the same illegal immigrant criminals before we say enough is enough?

New York’s leaders — and Washington — have a choice: protect the people and uphold the law, or keep bowing to radical activists while our streets spiral into lawlessness.
