Zelensky to Meet with Trump at White House on Monday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, only days after Trump’s positive summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The development signals a rare and direct attempt at pursuing what Trump described as a genuine peace agreement rather than another temporary ceasefire that could collapse under pressure.

Trump shared the news personally on Truth Social, highlighting both the progress made and the urgency of the task ahead. He wrote:

“A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO. It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up. President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

The message was striking for both its optimism and its blunt recognition of what is at stake. Unlike the endless back-and-forth that often characterizes international diplomacy—filled with bureaucratic overreach and half-measures—Trump underscored the need for a final and enforceable peace, not another fragile ceasefire that drags on without solving the problem.

On Friday, speaking after his Alaska summit with Putin, Trump made it clear that while progress had been made, the door to a deal is not yet fully open. “I will say that I believe we had a very productive meeting. There were many, many points that we agreed on, most of them, I would say–a couple of big ones that we haven’t quite gotten there, but we’ve made some headway. So there’s no deal until there’s a deal,” Trump said.

The former president emphasized that despite years of political noise in Washington over alleged Russia ties, his relationship with Putin has always been pragmatic, rooted in frank discussions rather than political theater. “We really made some great progress today. I’ve always had a fantastic relationship with President Putin, with Vladimir. We had many, many tough meetings and good meetings,” Trump said. “We were interfered with by the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. It made it a little bit tougher to deal with, but he understood it.”

This moment is worth noting because it touches several pressure points at once: the global demand for stability, America’s interest in reducing foreign entanglements that drain taxpayer resources, and the basic common-sense idea that endless wars only enrich bureaucracies while leaving ordinary people—especially soldiers and their families—to bear the cost. Trump’s approach, in contrast, leans on direct engagement, traditional diplomacy, and a focus on results rather than optics.

The possible face-to-face between Trump, Zelensky, and eventually Putin is more than just a news cycle headline. It is a reminder that American leadership still carries weight when it refuses to be drowned out by establishment politics. And it signals the potential for a shift from drawn-out stalemate to genuine resolution. For conservatives who value both strong national security and fiscal responsibility, the idea of ending a costly foreign war through a binding peace deal, rather than indefinite spending on a fight with no end in sight, is both a common-sense solution and a profound step forward.

    What’s with the former President?!?!
If you’re talking about Biden, say it! I didn’t hear that the WH invited all those people along with Zelensky? Does he need his mommy, too? The EU says that they’re ready to back Zelensky, let them! I’m tired of Zelensky saying Putin doesn’t want to stop killing, yet he just sent a line of drones to Russia. This works both ways and Trumps call for immediate peace is the right way! No sneak attacks, just done deal! It seems to me that the EU and Zelensky aren’t ready to negotiate. They hear Putins requests and dismissed them…the war will continue. I heard another statement from the EU (?) that Putin wants to regain his territory but that’s not happening. Excuse me? Regain his territory?? What is this telling us?
